Mfon Ekpo is a Maritime and Aviation Lawyer, CEO of The Discovery Centre, and founding partner and Executive Director of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team. A certified development strategist and human behaviour consultant, she has served on the President’s Advisory Council. She has received two Golden Quill awards and has co-authored bestselling books with Brian Tracy and Robert Allen. Holding multiple degrees spanning Maritime Law, Business Law, Journalism, NLP, Project Management, and Negotiation, Mfon is an international speaker and coach to top CEOs and thought leaders. She received the Best in Professional Ethics award from the Nigerian Law School and is a Mandela Washington Fellow from the pioneer set of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative.

Appointed Honorary Citizen and Goodwill Ambassador for the State of Arkansas in 2014 and 2017, Mfon was named among the most influential women in Nigeria (2017) and Most Inspiring Women in Enterprise (2023). In 2025, she made history as the first recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Alumni Award from the University of Southampton in its 163-year history, joining the ranks of Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Adrian Newey.

Her globally acclaimed intensive seminar “The Blueprint of How,” now in its 10th year, was shortlisted by the United Kingdom’s British Council Awards for Social Impact in Nigeria in recognition of the tangible socio-economic impact her training and coaching programmes have had in helping people across Africa translate their ideas into viable and sustainable impact-driven initiatives and businesses. She has spoken at Oxford, Yale, Harvard, Howard University, High Point University, the University of Southampton, amongst others, and serves on the Board of Directors of Wentors, and mentors on the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme.
